Weddings at Trenton First United Methodist Church

First Church, built in 1926, is a beautiful setting for both
traditional weddings and intimate weddings.

The sanctuary seats about 237, with seating for 165 on the main
floor (including 2 wheelchair spaces, close to a wheelchair-accessible,
unisex restroom), and seating for 72 more in the balcony.

A high, peaked ceiling and pale yellow walls provide a spacious
feeling in balance with dark red carpeting and the dark oak woodwork,
pulpit, lectern, and pews (with 2" cushions).



Elegant stained-glass windows, with the original Kokomo glass, provide
natural lighting for afternoon weddings. For candlelight weddings,
the sanctuary has lights that can dim, and candelabra and candlesticks
that provide 30 individual flames.



Ring in your special day with the large bell in the bell tower,
sounded the old-fashioned way, by pulling a thick rope. Travel down
the 4' 10" center aisle and back up again to the full or gentle sounds
of a Casavant two-manual pipe organ.

For comfort and convenience, First Church removed two rows of the
original pews and respaced those remaining, providing additional
legroom and easier entry and exit. The respacing increased the space
between the front pews and the communion rail to five feet, which
nicely accommodates wedding attendants. First church also removed
the choir pews from the chancel area, providing additional space for
ceremonial activities, musicians, or floral arrangements.



The Hotel Grill, across the street (with which the church has no
connection), has a first-floor restaurant and second-floor banquet
space for rehearsal dinners or modest receptions. The Hotel Grill
is in a renovated, historical, three-story building that opened as the
Hotel Felder in 1898.

First Church has many good dates available for weddings. Use of the church
for weddings costs $150. Church membership is not required for weddings
at First Church. Please all the office to make an appointment with our
pastor for additional wedding information.
